Homebound Delivery
Homebound delivery is available to anyone in our library district who is unable to travel to the library due a disability or illness.
Qualifications
To qualify, you must meet all the following conditions:
- be a resident of the Steger-South Chicago Heights Public Library District.
- either have a permanent, long-term disability, or a temporary condition that will last six weeks or more.
- have a SSCHPL library card in good standing.
- do not have personal transportion to SSCHPL.
Conditions
- Library materials will be checked out for 8 weeks.
- Patrons will not accrue late fees, but will be responsible for lost or damaged materials.
- Deliveries will occur once a month, depending on staff availability.
- Deliveries will not occur during inclement weather.
- Staff are not authorized to complete any other errands for patrons.
- Deliveries will cease if staff feels harassed or concerned about their safety.
- Patrons who can drive are not eligible for homebound delivery services.
- SSCHPL reserves the right to reassess any applicant for eligibility as well as the right to cancel delivery services at any time.
