Homebound delivery is available to anyone in our library district who is unable to travel to the library due a disability or illness. 

Qualifications

To qualify, you must meet all the following conditions:

• be a resident of the Steger-South Chicago Heights Public Library District.
• either have a permanent, long-term disability, or a temporary condition that will last six weeks or more.
• have a SSCHPL library card in good standing.
• do not have personal transportion to SSCHPL.

Conditions

• Library materials will be checked out for 8 weeks.
• Patrons will not accrue late fees, but will be responsible for lost or damaged materials.
• Deliveries will occur once a month, depending on staff availability.
• Deliveries will not occur during inclement weather.
• Staff are not authorized to complete any other errands for patrons.
• Deliveries will cease if staff feels harassed or concerned about their safety.
• Patrons who can drive are not eligible for homebound delivery services.
• SSCHPL reserves the right to reassess any applicant for eligibility as well as the right to cancel delivery services at any time.
